I think at the moment we're all waiting for one of us to post something that would prompt a reply.

Thought I would say hello to you.  Obviously new.

Bit depressing so far.  From what posts I've read its not a great company to work for and whoevers running it, should be shot.  I hear alot from Odeon folk that everything was great pre UCI days and for whatever reason, the heads at UCI muscled there way in and got rid of alot of Odeon longtermers.

I actually thought my site was going to be the worst after coming on here, but, amazingly, thats not the case - that is really concerning.

I have worked for many companies before where they have external bodies come in and get all staff to fill in questionnaires on work, pay, conditions etc - this is then reported back to the CEOs etc and action must be taken or a report is sent off to some organisation, government agency.  Not that they would, but would love it if Odeon would do this.

Lets have a rally and invite the press, whose with me.

you're very welcome JJames... to the weird & wonderful world of Odeonstaff.

I honestly think that everyone here thinks that another site cant be as bad as their own.. but that myth is  busted in just a couple of threads.

Hope ye enjoy your time here, take advantage of all the features, post lots.. and tell your colleagues about us...

They did send out an anonymous survey from an external company a couple of years ago, but the results were never made public.

I did actually get a copy of the results of that survey which had the title "We Can Handle The Truth", though I had to pester a lot to get hold of it. One of the things it mentioned was "the significant demotivation in the sound and projection function". Anyone got any ideas why that should be? I know I have.

The problem that Odeon seem unable to address is why is there so much de-motivation in the box.Well I could give 100 reasons as I talk to others from sites all over the country as one tech to another not waste money getting an outside source to tick boxes etc. One of the main reasons for dis-satisfaction are the forthcoming redundancies however they are implemented when the digitial roll-out starts. In the case of those who have been employed for a long time being treated like children on how to project a film. Then there is the case at one site I know of a G.M.who told his techs to ignore anything that the S.P.department sent out if it costs the cinema budget anything.another is the amount of e'mails sent some from different sources contradicting each other. Maybe if they joined this site they could get the answers they wanted by just reading the posts.

The day will never come when a GM tells me to ignore anything i do in projection, best move is to ask the said GM to have that request in written form, i will wager you that they will never ever do it.
